DESCRIPTION
Through this 5-hour tour, we will reveal the history of Bilbao, its seafaring past, its mines and the men who knew how to tame nature to make it a place worthy of admiration.
The Hanging Bridge, or Bizkaia Bridge, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2006, will allow us to link the town of Portugalete with the Municipality of Getxo, to later cross “The Golden Mile” of Bizkaia among the ostentatious stately palaces built for the great wealthy families at the beginning of the 20th century and to end our trip in the picturesque Old Port of Algorta.

DESCRIPTION
Alirón or “All Iron” was the expression that the British miners shouted in the iron farms in the town of Muskiz and surroundings back in the late 19th century when the iron they extracted was of great purity, since that meant double pay.
Iron and its extraction have had an essential meaning in the demographic and structural evolution of Bilbao and its surroundings, as well as in the evolution of the entire province of Bizkaia. On this seaside bike tour of approximately 25 km we will cover the entire left bank of the estuary from Bilbao to Muskiz, visiting much of the mining area and remembering stories from the past, passed down from father to son, as well as the struggles between the poor and the wealthy and the differences that persist, even today, between the inhabitants of the right bank and the left bank.
Once in the town of Muskiz, we will have the possibility both to immerse ourselves further in that mining past through a visit to the El Pobal Ironworks and to relax looking at the sea from the Playa de La Arena or in the nearby municipality of Pobeña.

Welcome to the DIY version of our seaside bike tours in Bilbao. In them you will find step-by-step instructions to successfully complete each of the routes that we propose, that is, Tourne-Muskiz (Tour all Iron) and Tourne-Portu Zaharra (Tourne Gold Coast). There are several different formats:
- A downloadable guide
- A physical guide that you can ask us at the store when you rent your bike *
- The GPS tracks for the most techies
Remember that although they are relatively long routes, they run near alternative means of transport, such as the subway or the train, where you can enter with the bike and return to Tourné easily.
Using GPS tracks
To have a fantastic experience we recommend using the GPS tracks together with the guide (or even in the absence of it). If you have never used a track of these it is really easy: you just have to go to the app store of your phone and download an application that reads gpx format (put gpx in the search engine) and open the file with the app. The design varies from app to app, but surely you will get a map with the marked route and your position on it. From there, it should be quite intuitive to follow to complete the journey.
